The empadronamiento is the mandatory administrative registration through which you record your home address with the local Town Hall (Ayuntamiento) in the municipality where you live in Spain. The resulting empadronamiento certificate is the official proof of your residence and is required for the vast majority of administrative and immigration procedures.

When Do You Need the Empadronamiento?
